Students’ Law Olympiad STOP 2009

A partner of the firm Dr. Lina Darulienė and associate Andrius Bambalas adjudicated in the Students’ Law Olympiad STOP 2009, that was organised already for the twelfth year in a row by ELSA Lietuva – the national Lithuanian group of the European Law Students’ Association, the largest law students’ and young lawyers’ organisation in Europe.
This year, the topic of the Olympiad was “Law of Advertising”. The topic, which was proposed by a partner of the firm Dr. Lina Darulienė, stirred up strong interest among Lithuanian students – even 140 students stated their wish to participate in the first round, 20 of them went to the final round of the Olympiad. The final round took 2 days: on 21 November students were writing an essay on the subject of advertising and on 22 November a moot court was held in the training centre of the Ministry of Justice. Dr. Lina Darulienė evaluated students’ essays and associate Andrius Bambalas together with a judge of the Vilnius County Court Arūnas Dirvonas and a lecturer of Mykolas Romeris University Remigijus Kalašnykas evaluated students’ performance during the moot court.
